Downtown Living Over Suburban Popularity

Here is an interesting graph from a recent ReisReport regarding the popularity of living in the central business district over the suburbs. The study has to do with vacancy rates in rentals – a field of real estate that I don’t participate in, but I still found it interesting. IMHO these stats also correlate to the pricing differences attributed to downtown lofts over suburban condos in Nashville.

I too favor redevelopment of any kind. It’s not the racing per se, but the unbelievable noise that it creates right in the middle of what could be a vibrant, urban neighborhood. The racetrack is NOT the highest or best use of the 110 acres located in this prime location; its and eyesore and an headache.
